During the most recent Mentorship York session, Kim Bracey—CEO of YWCA York and former Mayor—tackled one of leadership’s biggest challenges: conflict. Her message? “The goal isn’t to avoid conflict, but to be prepared to work through it.” 💬 From her military and civic leadership experience, Kim shared the “5 C’s” of conflict resolution: Calm, Caring, Curiosity, Creativity, and Collaboration 💠 She reminded us that active listening is the gateway to understanding, and that staying true to your values matters more than being liked. Thank you, Kim, for the tools—and courage—to face conflict with clarity and compassion. 👏

Happy Birthday to Angela — the heart of our office! 🎈 She’s the smiling face that greets you, the chipper voice on the other end of the line, and the real MVP behind the scenes who keeps us all in check (and the candy jar full) 😉 With eyes like a hawk, the wisdom of a doctor (literally), and a detail-driven, can-do attitude that holds us all together — Angela is the glue of LY. Today we’re celebrating NINE incredible years of leadership, heart, and impact with our Executive Director, Wilda Reahm-Alessi! Wilda is the kind of leader who doesn’t just guide from the front—she’s right there in the thick of it with you. Her dedication to Leadership York and her passion for training, connecting, and inspiring future leaders extends far beyond the 9–5. When she’s not motivating others to reach new heights, you might find her jumping out of an airplane—because Wilda is an adrenaline junkie who thrives on the thrill of skydiving! It's just another example of how she brings energy, excitement, and passion into everything she does. Many of you know and love her as much as we do, and it’s no surprise why. We’re so grateful for her vision, commitment, and unwavering support—not to mention the endless supply of Bedford County popcorn, her bright smile, and the calm, welcoming atmosphere she brings to the office every day.
