Lats month, our LTP class spent the evening diving deep into Public Service and Government at the York County Solid Waste Authority! From a behind-the-scenes tour with Ruthanne Jones, to conversations with local leaders — Commissioner Doug Hoke, School Board Member Troy Engle, and Representative Carol Hill-Evans — our class explored how government works and how leaders can serve their communities. 💡 “What Are You Building?” Mentor Dave Meckley closed out the 2025 Mentorship York year with a thought-provoking session, asking participants to reflect on their skills, experiences, and impact. From personal mission statements to imagining the legacy they want to leave, the cohort explored what matters most and how to move forward with purpose. Thank you, Dave, for helping our cohort see the bigger picture!

🎉 Today we’re celebrating the amazing lady front and center in this photo — the best boss this side of York County… our Wilda! She deserves to be celebrated daily, and today that means treating her to lunch at one of her go-to favorites. Any guesses where we will be? 👀 If you know her, you know she brings passion, drive, and an inspiring presence to everyone around her. FLY had an amazing Health & Human Services Day last month!💙 Students heard from Martin Library + United Way, then visited local nonprofits to learn how they support York County. These visits help them prepare for their grant-making project later this year. Plus: a York County demographics game + a fun non-verbal communication challenge (hello, Simon Says 👀).

And we’re off! ✨ 36 students from across York County came together for the first time as the 2025–2026 cohort of Future Leaders of York (FLY). A huge thank you to our Program Sponsor, PennAir, and to Seth Bray, CEO of The Conrad Companies, for visiting and inspiring our students. At Retreat, students spent time connecting, collaborating, and stepping outside their comfort zones as they prepared for the journey ahead. We can already tell this group is something special. 💙
