Wilda Alessi

Executive Director

Wilda Alessi began her tenure as Leadership York's Executive Director in June 2016. Prior to joining our staff, she worked for the York County Economic Alliance for over 12 years, serving as a member of the senior management team from 2013-2016, most recently as Vice President, Chamber Operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership York’s Leadership Training Program, and a 2015 graduate of Mentorship York. 

She has served on the Leadership Council of Healthy York County Coalition, Executive Committee of York County Literacy Council, is Past President of the Junior League of York, and a member of United Way of York County’s Emerging Leaders Society.

Angela Ang-Alhadeff

Administrative Coordinator

Angela joined the staff at Leadership York in June 2017. She is a graduate of Smith College, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Loyola University Maryland. In addition to being the Administrative Coordinator, Angela serves the York community through board service for Leg Up Farm, United Way of York County and YWCA York and also serves on several committees. She is a Past President and former Treasurer of the Junior League of York.

Angela looks forward to sharing her leadership experiences and her enthusiasm for community service.

 

Joan Caruso

Program Coordinator, Future Leaders of York

Joan joined the Leadership York team in June 2013 shortly after retiring from her teaching position at Eastern York School District. She graduated from Ridley High School and  Millersville University.  She  is a certified elementary and special education teacher with a Masters degree. Since her graduation from the Leadership for Diverse Schools Class of 2010, she has presented  “Exceptionalities in Learning Abilities” to LDS class members. Her community service includes Christ Lutheran Church of Spry Church Council, various Dallastown booster clubs and as a Girl Scout troop leader. She volunteers at many community events. Her son Nate is a FLY graduate.

In her position as Program Coordinator of FLY, Joan enjoys working with young people and watching them grow as leaders. She is enthusiastic about sharing with high school students all of the wonderful activities and opportunities available in York County.  She also enjoys inviting community leaders to join with her to watch these future leaders as they increase their leadership skills.

Kraig Hursh

Program Coordinator, Leadership Training Program

Kraig has been associated with Leadership York since 2006. He is a graduate of the Leadership Training Program class of 2007 and served on Leadership York's board of directors from 2007–2014, including a term as president in 2012-2013. He holds a degree in Merchandising/Marketing from International Fine Arts College and a Chef’s Diploma from The French Culinary Institute. In addition to being the LTP Program Coordinator, Kraig is a full time REALTOR and has been for 14+ years. His previous community work includes Habitat for Humanity, DreamWrights Center for Community Arts, Planned Parenthood, and the REALTOR’s Association of York and Adams Counties (RAYAC), where he chaired several committees and served as the 2010 board president. Kraig is the proud recipient of the 2012 REALTOR of the Year for RAYAC and the 2012 Preserving the Trust Award from Berkshire Hathaway, which is awarded each year for achievements in community outreach.

Kraig is excited about sharing his local knowledge and leadership experience with the LTP classes and knows that training individuals in accepting leadership roles in our community is key to a better community.

Rabiya Khan

Alumni & Board Development Coordinator

Rabiya joined the staff of Leadership York in 2018. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. In addition to being the Alumni & Board Development Coordinator, Rabiya is the founder of the Solidarity Society of South Central PA - a social justice group dedicated to promoting peaceful dialogue and eliminating prejudice and fear of Islam and immigrants. She also founded Meet A Muslim American, (MAMA) an educational tabling event held annually at the YWCA's Race Against Racism to offer attendees the opportunity to speak and meet with local Muslims. Rabiya serves on the Advisory Board of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) - America's largest Islamic civil liberties and civil advocacy group whose mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam and empower American Muslims with their constitutional rights.

She is a 2010 Leadership Training Program graduate and has been a guest speaker representing the Muslim community for Leadership for Diverse Schools and the Leadership Training Program.

Jennifer Klimchock

Program Assistant, Future Leaders of York

Jennifer joined the staff of Leadership York in 2017. She has a Public Relations degree from York College of Pennsylvania. In addition to being the FLY Program Assistant, Jennifer is the Service Unit Lead for Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA, Conestoga 220; and is a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s Cadette Troop. She serves as the PTO President for the York Academy Regional Charter School. Jennifer is a synchronized swimmer on the York Synchro Masters Team and serves on several committees for the York Synchro Team, including a term as President of the Parent Association.

Lori Riddle

Program Coordinator, Leadership For Diverse Schools

Lori joined the staff at Leadership York in June 2016. She is a graduate of the Leadership for Diverse Schools class of 2010. She has a Master’s degree from Gratz College in Differentiated Instruction, a Master’s degree from York College in Educational Leadership, a Bachelor’s degree from York College of Pennsylvania in General Science Secondary Education, and an Associate’s Degree from York College of Pennsylvania in Business Administration. In addition to being the LDS Program Coordinator, Lori is a full-time science teacher at Dallastown High School. At Dallastown, she works on the district diversity team, the student assistance program, and coordinates the high school No Place for Hate program. Lori has also been a summer playground director for 12 years for the Manchester Playground program.
